Our Approach
High Standards. Every Time.
The cut matters less than the timing and the species. Laurel wants secateurs rather than a hedge trimmer unless you like brown, shredded leaves. Yew tolerates hard renovation and most conifers do not. Cutting a spring flowering shrub in winter removes the flower buds entirely.
We are not tree surgeons and will say so. Anything requiring climbing, felling, or work near power lines needs a qualified arborist, and we would rather tell you that than take the job.

Common Questions
Hedge, Topiary & Tree Pruning, Answered
How high can you work?
We work from ground level and platforms within safe reach, which covers most domestic hedges and small ornamental trees. For anything requiring climbing or felling we will refer you to a qualified tree surgeon.
Can an overgrown hedge be brought back?
Often, though it depends on the species. Yew, beech, hornbeam, and laurel take hard renovation well. Most conifers, including leylandii, will not regrow from bare wood, so there is a limit to how far back they can go.
What about nesting birds?
Active nests are protected by law. We check hedges before starting between March and August, and will reschedule if we find one.
Do you clear up afterwards?
Always. Arisings are collected, the ground is blown through, and the site is left immaculate.
